South Shore has won the competitive tender to produce two 6 x 60-minute series, including any specials, for two years from late spring 2025. The programme will be produced out of South Shore’s base in Cardiff with a budget of around £370,000 per episode.

“DIY SOS is a much-loved part of the BBC schedule and I’m confident that South Shore will continue to cherish the brand and ensure its ongoing success in the years ahead.

This was an extremely competitive bidding process and we would like to commend the shortlisted producers for the high quality and comprehensive bids they put forward.”

Catherine Catton, Head of commissioning, factual entertainment and events BBC

Presented by Nick Knowles, the show has had 32 series since 1999 and follows home makeovers with a team of experts.

The 9pm format was put out to tender in June 2023, alongside long-running BBCS format See Hear, as part of the BBC’s contestability requirements.
